Ok so here is the scenario. I am a person who has very bad anxiety, in general everyday life but especially at the dentist. I needed to have 4 teeth removed so I searched for weeks in my area before finally coming across a highly recommended “sedation dentist” to where I could be put fully asleep during the procedure. ok so on the day of the procedure i was in the chair and he began administering the drugs through the IV. Well it made me feel sick to my stomach so I asked could he stop for just a minute while I got adjusted to the way it felt. He said yea we will stop, and he took the IV needle completely out of my arm and he got up and left the room. A few minutes later he returned and said I would just need to reschedule. So on my way out they said I had to pay for todays services..which turned out to be $ 534 they said I was being charged for the anesthetics they used as well as the full 4 hour time slot he had alloted for my procedure. On top of that my insurance didnt pay a penny on it because they said no procedure was performed. Now my argument is I was only in the office 45 minutes tops. I dont mind paying for the open anesthesia as well as a 1 hour block of time. I mean lets say I just didnt show up for my appointment at all, would he have sent me a bill for $ 500…I think not.
